As the 24th NSW Government Architect, a role that has been in effect for over 200 years, Abbie Galvin is responsible for championing high quality design outcomes across the State, as well as shaping quality places and public spaces through policy and advocacy.

As a former director of BVN, Abbie brings 30yrs of leadership in architectural practice to the role. Projects she has led have been the recipient of more than 40 state, national and international architectural awards including the RAIA Lloyd Rees Award for Urban Design, the RAIA Jack McConnell Award for Public Architecture and the RAIA Blackett Prize for Regional Architecture.

Abbie is a Life Fellow of the Institute of Architects, a graduate of the AICD, received the Marion Mahoney Griffin Prize for a distinctive body of work in the field of Architecture and was recently awarded the AIA Leadership in Sustainability Prize.
