Following on our successful 2024 event presented in partnership with Music & Opera Singers Trust (MOST), we are excited to once again program a wonderful event celebrating young musical talent.

On Wednesday 30 April, we are delighted to present Soprano Eden Shifroni, Finalist and Winner of Australia’s most prestigious singing competition which is managed and produced by MOST - the 2024 IFAC Handa Australian Singing Competition. The Competition is judged by a group of esteemed music professionals and has a reputation in the industry for identifying immense talent. Finalists are accompanied by the Opera Australia Orchestra.
Eden was named the winner of the Marianne Mathy Scholarship after her stunning performances of Sul fil d’un soffio etesio from Verdi’s “Falstaff” and O luce di quest’anima from “Linda di Chamounix” by Donizetti. She was accompanied by the Opera Australia Orchestra conducted by Maestro Tahu Matheson.
As the Winner, Eden was awarded a number of prizes to support her program of study and singing training, including the Audition Prize from Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Ryan Opera Center: an opportunity to audition for Lyric Opera of Chicago’s professional artist-development program.
Eden’s repertoire extends from Baroque to new music. She holds a Bachelor of Music (Classical Performance) and a Master of Music Studies (Opera Performance) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Her stage roles have included Pamina (The Magic Flute) at the Vienna Summer Music Festival, Musetta (La bohème) and Suor Genovieffa (Suor Angelica) at the Mediterranean Opera Festival in Sicily, as well as Poppea in the Sydney Conservatorium and NIDA production of The Coronation of Poppea. At the Sydney Conservatorium, Eden also performed scenes as Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier) and Yum-Yum (The Mikado) with the Sydney University Symphony Orchestra.
