To close the Rose Scott Women Writers Festival, we welcome acclaimed actor and author Tasma Walton in conversation with Bronte Charles. Walton will discuss her heart-wrenching new novel I Am Nannertgarrook, based on the true story of her Boonwurrung ancestor who was kidnapped by sealers and enslaved far from her homeland. This intimate conversation will explore Walton’s creative process in bringing to life a profound tale of maternal love that endures against brutal odds, while reclaiming a too-often neglected perspective in Australia’s colonial history. A moving finale that celebrates Indigenous storytelling, ancestral connection, and the indomitable female spirit.
